VETERANS

It is important to know you are not alone. As Veteran ourselves, we know how rough things can get for some.  30% of active duty and reserve military personnel deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan have a mental health condition requiring treatment.*  The Veterans Administration reports that approximately 22 Veterans die by suicide every day. Many experience PTSD and depression due to things such as mental stress of long deployments, military combat, and disasters experienced during active duty.  We want to let you know that help is available. Take a look at our RESOURCES tab for some available services.  Whether or not you are experiencing mental health issues, there are benefits from engaging with Veteran's groups. You meet people who understand issues you have faced, learn from the experiences of others, and may be the voice another Veteran needs to hear. It can be rewarding to spend time with people you can relate to.
